Lone Star Ag Credit, headquartered in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a Summer Intern to work the Fort Worth office from approximately June 1, 2020 through July 31, 2020.  This position will work with Business Intelligence/Risk to Work on a Data Analytics project to be determined that will involve cleaning, organizing, and analyzing data and making a recommendation based off the data to the Credit & Operations Risk Manager.  Additional projects to be determined that will assist in improving current processes and adding new ideas

Position Description and Scope:

Full-time, paid position for Summer 2020. Internship term will be June 1st through July 31st, 2020. The internship is based out of the LSAC Headquarter office in Fort Worth, TX. Students will be expected to relocate for the summer term at their own expense.

The intern will work with Business Intelligence/Risk to:

  • Work on a Data Analytics project to be determined that will involve cleaning, organizing, and analyzing data and making a recommendation based off the data to the Credit & Operations Risk Manager
  • Additional projects to be determined that will assist in improving current processes and adding new idea

Education and Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma and enrollment at an accredited university (at the time of the internship) in at least a Bachelor's Degree Program with a field of study in Ag Business, Ag Economics, Finance, Accounting, or other degree plan that supports a career in Agricultural Finance; student should be of good academic standing (minimum 2.75 overall GPA); should be enrolled as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student at the time of the Internship, with a preference for students completing their degree studies in the fall of 2019 or spring of 2020.

Skill Requirements:

Skill in oral and written communication. Basic skill level in Microsoft personal computer operating, networking systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Previous work experience in financial industry is helpful but not required. Evidence of leadership skills. Should be team oriented, cooperative and show a strong work ethic. Ability to perform basic accounting and financial analyses under moderate supervision.

Working Relationship:

Frequent interaction with Risk Department, credit staff and management. Occasional interaction with CEO.
